When was the Company founded?
HCC has achieved an outstanding record of growth and profitability since its formation in 1974, through creative but disciplined underwriting, opportunistic expansion of existing lines of business and acquisitions.
When did HCC go public? What was the price?
On October 28, 1992, with a market capitalization of $60 million and assets of just over $100 million, HCC Insurance Holdings, Inc. went public on the NASDAQ - National Market System ("NASDAQ") under the symbol “HCCH” with an IPO of $12.00 per share. The Company traded on the NASDAQ until June 19, 1995. On June 20, 1995, HCC's Common Stock began trading on the New York Stock Exchange ("NYSE") under the symbol “HCC” and currently trades on the NYSE.
What is HCC’s fiscal year?
HCC’s fiscal year ends December 31.

PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP audited the financial records of HCC and its subsidiaries for the year ended December 31, 2012 and has served as HCC’s independent registered public accounting firm since 1987.

The diversity of our insurance offerings and our consistent underwriting performance have allowed us to maintain financial strength ratings of AA (Very Strong) from Standard & Poor’s Corporation (3rd of 21 ratings), A+ (Superior) from A.M. Best Company, Inc. (2nd of 16 ratings), AA (Very Strong) from Fitch Ratings (3rd of 19 ratings), and A1 (Good Security) from Moody’s Investors Service, Inc. (5th of 21 ratings) for our major domestic and international insurance companies.

Yes. Beginning in June 1996, HCC announced a planned quarterly program of paying cash dividends to shareholders.

Dividends declared on HCC's Common Stock are currently $0.165 per share on the Company’s shares of $1.00 par value common stock.
When were HCC's stock splits?
HCC’s Board of Directors declared a 3 for 2 split in February 1994 for shareholders of record on March 15, 1994. In April 1996, the Board declared a 5 for 2 split for shareholders of record on April 30, 1996. The Board also declared a 3 for 2 stock split for shareholders of record on July 1, 2005.
